POETRY

The ultimate escape from the world is to find the inner self.  Self expression can be difficult for many, and for others it comes naturally.  Some of us teeter between the two.

During a particularly expressive period in my life, I penned a decent amount of poetry for an amateur such as myself.  This period lasted for two years, then came to a halt.  Since that time, but only on occasion, I've tried to find it within myself to write like this again, but I find I no longer have the inspiration I once did.  When people say that art or writing or music is expressive, I now know what they mean.
At the bottom of this page are links to poetry written during 1997 and 1998.  The comments and awards that my poetry has received over the years mean as much to me as the writings do themselves, and I have elected to share a few of them here as well.

I'm happy to forward the Feebleminds poetry award. Poetry is a very personal art-form and that makes it difficult to assess in terms of "good" or "bad". Whether or not someone else likes your poetry is not necessarily the issue.
It's whether or not they can relate to it in some way or appreciate the depth of emotion that prompted you to write those words at all. You certainly seem to have had bags of that, and I salute you that you have managed to compose so many words born out of the love for someone. Kind regards Lindy-Lou
