Distant Shores
-
So far away, so distant,
a place I can not see,
nowhere on earth there is right now,
that I'd rather be.
-
I walk this beach in moonlight
and breathe the cool night air,
I look beyond the horizon,
and know the sun shines there.
-
If I could, I'd dive right in
and swim this giant sea.
Then once there, I'd built a boat
to bring you back with me.
-
But I am here and you are there,
and we seem so far apart,
that the distance is a reminder
that we're together in my heart.
-
For now, that's all I have
as my love my heart outpours,
while I walk this beach of loneliness
and dream of distant shores.
