Distant Worlds
-
A million points of light,
and for each a million more.
To travel to these distant worlds
where none have been before,
-
And pick a tiny planet
where no one has ever been,
to create the perfect home world
like no one has ever seen.
-
So far away, so distant
from this planet Earth.
Gladly would I travel
to plan Utopia's birth.
-
To start again with nothing,
just the land, and you, and I,
beside the pure, clean water,
beneath the clear blue sky.
-
I'd build for you a garden,
Paradise would be its name,
and rid it of all serpents,
so as not to be the same
-
As the world from which we come,
with it's crime and lust and sin.
Such a perfect world we'd make
as we begin again.
-
But these are distant worlds
where never shall we go,
I shared this thought with you
just so you would know
-
That if I could, I'd tear apart
the world in which we live,
and build it all back better,
then to you, the world I'd give.
