Emotions
- In silence, alone, I sit here,
- Mournful tunes fall upon my ear,
- Thoughts of past and present trouble me,
- The future beckons with what could be.
To make a change I can not make,
Not for me, for another's sake,
Would that it were within my power,
I'd make it so this very hour.
But must we play the cards we're dealt?
Bitter emotion, all we've felt,
Mixed inside, and tormenting so,
Is clouding all that we should know.
To divorce oneself from the heart,
Or stand on stage and play the part,
So torn apart by that within,
A pain known well by other men.
Emotions cloud my judgment so,
An act of Love, in truth I know,
Would serve to make everything right,
As emotions rule my thoughts this night.
