Love's Embrace
-
Time stood still for me this evening,
As I held you tightly in my arms,
That briefest moment an eternity,
And I did not want to let you go.
-
In that moment, unspoken love was born,
As my heart was filled to saturation,
In your arms I found all I have sought,
A love without demand, a love above all else.
-
Too soon for me did we pull apart,
And I regret not pulling you back again,
So much was shared in that moment,
So much given, without the need to take.
-
Now that my heart knows such joy,
How can it beat again until our next embrace?
Silently, I cry throughout the night,
In sorrow that you are not here with me now.
