Shared Silence

How many days have passed us by?
How many years has it been?
How long since we have spoken?
Will we ever speak again?

No. Silence is all that we now share.
Nothing else since we parted ways
except the loneliness and teardrops
that have filled these many days.

I still look at your picture
and wish there were some way
to convey to you my feelings,
to express what words can't say.

A hole has opened in my heart,
and all my love ran out.
I'll never have another love.
Of that I have no doubt.

So I'll just go on with loving
someone who is not there,
and firmly hold to my portion of
the silence that we share.
