The Dreamer
-
Last night we walked the beach
together
two hearts alone, hand in hand...
You gazed into the moonlight,
I wrote your name in sand
-
Something special was the night,
as we sat upon the shore.
Then emotions overtook us
as we heard the oceans roar.
-
I stole a kiss, you took it back,
and gently we did touch,
when swiftly our love poured out
let loose in passions rush.
-
And in each others arms
our bodies did entwine.
I said a prayer to God last night,
in thanks that you were mine.
-
It was there, last night, I gave to
you
my heart for you to keep.
We spoke in silent whispers
as we drifted off to sleep.
-
The night slipped by so peacefully,
and then the morning broke.
I turned to you, but you're not there,
and from my dream I woke.
-
Yes, life is but a dream, and I
a dreamer e'er will be,
for I spend every moment dreaming
that you are here with me.
