Unspoken Words

In my mind I hear so clearly,

The words I dare not say,

In fear of your reaction,

Afraid you'll run away.

How I long to speak them,

To give my heart a voice,

But memories and experience,

Leave me with no choice.

I've tried and failed in my past,

To say these words aloud,

Those who've heard have run away,

So never again, I have vowed.

Now when you look at me and ask,

If I love you too,

Fear not, my love, and you will hear,

My unspoken words for you.
